Philosophy Wire: Melted bridges and the subjectivity of vision

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-03-25]: An artist found some strange images of bridges in Google Earth, which look like they are...melted! [Source: web news] Vision has always been the most "objective" sense in which man is based. The legend, however, wants Democritus taking out his own eyes since he "did not want to be fooled by his subjective senses"... We see a straight bridge, a satellite "looks at is" like being melted as if it was butter. Who ... "wins" the contest of objectivity? Do you think that Salvador Dali knew something when he painted those melted clocks?

PS. You can see the images of the melted bridges at artist's site.
